Precautions For Using Angular Ball Screws

May 08, 2025Leave a message

As a precision transmission element, angular ball screws are widely used in industrial manufacturing, CNC machine tools, automation equipment and other fields. Its high efficiency and high precision make it a key transmission component, but correct installation, maintenance and use are directly related to the service life and performance of the equipment. The following are matters that industry users need to pay special attention to.

Strict precision control during installation
The installation of angular ball screws must be performed by professionals, and the installation surface must ensure that the flatness and verticality errors are less than 0.01mm. The adjustment of preload force must be strictly carried out according to the equipment parameters. Excessive preload will cause abnormal temperature rise, and insufficient preload may cause backlash problems. After installation, the laser micrometer must be used for precision testing to ensure that the axial and radial runout values meet the design requirements.

Lubrication management directly affects the life span
The lubrication cycle of the ball screw is closely related to the working environment. It is recommended to add grease daily in the case of continuous high-speed operation, and low-load equipment can be adjusted to once a week. Using the designated brand of grease can minimize the friction coefficient. For high temperature environments, it is recommended to use heat-resistant composite lithium-based grease. Check the nozzle regularly for blockage to avoid dry friction caused by insufficient lubrication.

Working environment and load matching
The operating environment temperature of the equipment needs to be controlled between -20℃ and 80℃. If it exceeds the range, a constant temperature device needs to be installed. For heavy-duty conditions, a larger screw should be used. Overload operation can easily cause ball damage or even screw breakage. Monitor temperature rise changes regularly. Continuous high temperature indicates that abnormal friction may occur, and load overload or lubrication failure should be checked in time.

Regular maintenance to prevent problems before they occur
It is recommended to check the wear of the ball circulation components every quarter, focusing on monitoring the surface finish of the nut raceway. If abnormal noise or vibration is found, the machine needs to be stopped immediately to check the alignment of the screw and the guide rail. It is recommended to apply anti-rust oil for long-term out-of-service equipment, and an additional protective cover needs to be installed in a humid environment.

Standardized operation and scientific maintenance can significantly improve the stability of the transmission system. Users need to formulate special maintenance plans based on specific working conditions.
